Dear Reader,

Stephen Covey, the author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, famously said, “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.” My interpretation of this observation is to “stay focused.”

The “main thing” for procurement is adding value to our business. Each day,  we encounter new business challenges. I am impressed by the agility, resilience, adaptation, and collaboration of people in every part of the procurement value chain. Together, we have maintained focus. We continue to optimize our unique ecosystems through transformational initiatives that drive value.

As with each edition of the Lever, I hope we provide insights that help you maintain your focus. In this issue, learn how to tame your data, tell your story so stakeholders listen, and build a roadmap for digital innovation.

Keep the main thing the main thing,

Successful digital transformation requires more than innovative technology. A sound digital agenda has a firm grounding in total business alignment, procurement’s future state vision, and an honest maturity assessment of readiness and current technology.
